Clean Out of Place
Schlueter Safgard ‘Clean out of Place’ COP Systems
In Food Processing, manual cleaning of parts is often rushed and not consistent, a COP System by Schlueter Safgard will provide increased time for operators to focus on other more pertinent work. Less operator time is required as often operator loads components into baskets or places parts pipes, fittings and parts and submerges them into the COP Tank, then simply moves onto other tasks.
Safgard COP System Sanitary Design and Construction Specifications:
Wash Tank Sizes: The Schlueter Company offers COP wash tanks in sizes ranging from 75 to 500 gallons.
Material thicknesses: Standard 14 Gauge, Type 304 or 316 Stainless Steel; Type 316 & 12 Gauge per request.
Tank Welding/Finishes: Internal welds ground and polished; external welds are color cleaned and or bead blast finished. Our wash tanks also feature interior and exterior 2b finishing, pitched bottoms for complete drainage and removeable perforated sump strainer. #4 Finish also available.
Tubing Finishes: All tubing welds are gas backed ID/ buffed OD according to 3A Standards. Tubing connections use Sanitary Tri-Clamp connections. Gaskets are EPDM, a heat and chemical resistant polymer.
Various pumps/motors: Typically between 5-15 HP Ampco or Alfa Laval, 3/60/220/440 Motors Sanitary Style, Industrial Model Pumps with TC connections, 3 Phase, TEFC, 3500 RPM. Our COP tanks come standard with circulating pumps, an external jet manifold.
Sanitary Design: Of the utmost sanitary design, and ensure that the parts will be thoroughly cleaned and free from contaminants. They provide continuous agitation from the circulation pump, while the jets remove residue from piping, hoses and machine parts.
Physical Action: Processes are provided by sanitary side jets with turbulent rolling washing action and often counter-flow end jets providing washing longitudinal within the tank for hoses and pipe washing. Tanks include selector valves installed in pump discharge to select either side or end jet manifolds.
COP Valving: Our standard tanks have one butterfly valve for side jet manifold. They can come with two (2) polished butterfly valves for discharge to select for either side jet manifold or end manifold assembly. Additional Manual or air-actuated valves and tri-clamp connections for other tasks available.
Legs/Feet: Standard Stainless Steel legs with adjustable feet or casters with 5″ non-marking wheels.
Optional Features: Include parts baskets in different sizes, motor starter, casters, steam sparger or electric heat, tank covers, pipe racks, and push – pull piping.
CIP Work Additions: For CIP work, two butterfly valves and a tee can be installed for CIP work, this can also be accomplished with 2 air actuated butterfly valves and a tee installed, or one manual three way valve. A return from the CIP line will allow tank to act as a reservoir also.
Temperature: Controlled by self-regulating steam valve with thermo-bulb assembly or additional heating methods available. Other heating options include direct injection of steam through self-actuating regulator or with electric immersion elements.
- The submerged parts will rise and remain in hot water temperatures which helps the breakdown of residual solids.
- Minimal operator exposure allows higher temperatures maintained safely.
Chemical Concentration: Higher concentrations of chemicals can be safely used without operators contacting the cleaning process and chemicals are able to be added according to SSOP.
